meh

changed the look of the template a bit... its kinda crappy, i'll fix it later if i could be bothered.

Grind House Premiere photos

i'm in debt, but i'll worry about that later

Been a while since my last post, and Adam wont shut up about it so I thought I'd post something and shut him up for 3.75 seconds.

Still been really busy, especially this week, since I'm working everyday except Thursday. Then theres TAFE work, TV shows/movies to watch, Zelda to play, some design/photography work to do and friends to hang out with, but its good that I'm busy, and working... money is good.

So yeah, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was released on the Virtual Console for the Wii last week, and since I've been obsessed with Zelda lately its what I've been playing and its pretty awesome. I haven't played it before, so its been good, and difficult. I find it funny that I was more excited about playing a 15 year old game on the day that the PS3 was released.

On other random news, my shirts from threadless were shipped the other day, they should be here soon. Only 6 days now until we go to AGMF, can't wait... 16 hour drive in a 12 seater van with 10 other people... should be interesting.

I had McDonalds for dinner tonight... now my car smells like quarter pounder.

Some stuff I think is cool:

Finally, I did something slightly stupid today, I bought this...
My old CRT was on its way out and annoying me so I wanted a new one.

Now I just have to pay for it... and get a Xbox 360 or PS3 to enjoy some HD goodness. But it does look pretty freaking sweet in my room.

a weekend in the dust

The weekend has been too busy, good, but really busy. Haven't had a chance to post anything 'til now.

Friday night I went and watched JLJ record some stuff for their upcoming CD/Demo/EP/Album/what-ever-they're-calling-it... and like most recording sessions it was mostly fun with moments of boringness (when people were actually recording) but I still enjoy observing and being involved in the process. I also finally got to meet their new sax player, Hollie, she's pretty cool. I then went home and watched some new shows 'til 4 in the morning... like "Raines" and "Andy Barker P.I." (I'll post something about these later).

Saturday, I woke up around 10.30 to be at work at 11.30, and it sucked... well it wasn't too bad, can't really remember what I did at work that day. Anyways, I finished work at 3.30 and went straight to Dusty Days, and got there just in time to see JLJ play. 'Twas a good day, but I'm still cut that i missed E.E.S because of stupid work, oh well, not like I haven't seem them play a billion times before, and not like I will never see them play again. On the plus side they finally had their album for sale so I had to buy that. It's a good feeling seeing the final finished product of something you've helped create, it was just photos, but it looked good.

After that I just hung with my friends, ie. everyone from JLJ and E.E.S, it was pretty cool, didn't do much, just sat around in the shade, watched Brett and RJ go on the dodgem cars, that was kinda fun, but not really. Watched Bliss 'n Eso for a bit, they were ok, they're good at what they do, but im not a huge fan, even though they did sample large chunks of Gnarls Barkley and Kanye West, which was kinda cool. Then I caught one song by Faker, they were boring, that is all. Then I watched most of The Herd (I left to get a cream-filled waffle, it was nice), they were really good, hadn't really heard much of them before but it was still good, I enjoyed them. Then there was Thirsty Merc... they sucked, no more needs to be said. Then after that was Something for Kate, they were also really good, but they started to bore me by the end of their set.

So, after that we decided to go to the after party at The Saloon, and after waiting around the front for a good 40 minutes or so they finally let us in, and then they finally got the free drinks organised... too bad I had to drive home and work sunday. I eventually got bored and was tired so I left.

Then sunday, I went to work at 12, again, it sucked, but meh, money is money. I then went home and bummed a bit and slept, then went to watch the cricket at RJ's at around midnight, Australia vs. Netherlands, and well Australia won quite convincingly. I only stayed for Australia's innings, so i got home around 4.30 am, but didn't sleep 'til 5.30 am. Then i had to be up at 9 am to be at work by 10 am. I slept in a bit and was a little late, and by a little late, I mean I clocked in at 10.01 am, I don't think they'll mind. Surprisingly I wasn't all that tired.

So yeah, that was my pointless post about my weekend. Exciting stuff, huh? Anyways, next post will have more to do with design/tafe stuff.

come out and play-ay with wario... or something

this is all sorts of awesome

was done by this guy.

keep your hands off my girl...

well not really, as I don't have a girl.

Anyways, just wanted to comment on what I have been listening to lately. Mainly its been 'Neon Bible' the new album by Arcade Fire. I just think its an awesome album, kind of an extension of what they did on 'Funeral', maybe not quite as good, but as an album its quite solid, and I enjoy some tracks more than some of the ones on 'Funeral'. It has been on repeat in my player for about a week now, I can't get enough and I absolutely love the song "No Cars Go". They also have an awesome site for the album here.

I've also listened to the new album by Air called 'Pocket Symphony' a fair bit, which isn't as good as their others but is still a decent effort apart from a couple of tracks. Some tracks remind me of 'Talkie Walkie' not that thats a bad thing, but I still didn't mind it.

Also listened to the new Bright Eyes EP called 'Four Winds'. I think its good, there is a couple of tracks I really like. I need to listen to it more carefully to form a better opinion of it. Hopefully his new album is good.

I'm also really looking forward to the new Modest Mouse album 'We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank'. Only heard 3 tracks off it, but I love "Dashboard" even if it is a bit poppy and trendy, but I think I like that side of Modest Mouse more, which probably doesn't make me a very good Modest Mouse fan.

Well thats it, I'm going to go watch
The Black Donnellys... will post something about that later if I could be bothered.

ps. I don't condone the listening to Good Charlotte... ever, that song is just hilariously bad, and the new album is simply terrible. That is all.
